This is a great example of the 162.006 Heuer chronograph. The watch features a mint dial, handset, case and pushers. It has had a few service parts installed over its life as well, I will go into more detail on all these parts later.
The movement is the most important part of a watch. The watch has a newly serviced DD 2000 chronograph module and a brand new ETA 955.232 quartz driver as well. This is important to note due to the fact that servicing these watches can be expensive due to its mechanical nature and unique movement.
A few parts of this watch are service parts installed in the past. I will list them and tell you what I know about them below.
1. Tag Heuer Service caseback (has no reference number on it)
2. Tag Heuer Service crown
3. Tag Heuer 2000 Presidential Chronograph bracelet (I swapped a Heuer clasp onto this watch and I beleive it may be after market. I personally like the look as it matches the watch and keeps the Heuer look, I will however include the Original Tag Heuer clasp so it is up to you which to use!)
Overall, this is a great original example, freshly serviced and ready for the next owner. I reccomend treating this watch as you would a mechanical watch due to its mechanical nature, it will need to be serviced as you would a mechanical watch if you wish to keep it up over time.
If you have any questions about this watch, feel free to send me a message. I will be happy to help you in any way that I can!
HEUER 2000 Chronograph 162.006
The Tag Heuer 2000 was the diverse cousin of the 1000. With many design elements and cues that carried over to the 2000 range, it fit in well with the brand. However, what makes the 2000 different than the 1000 range is the dizzying number of variants ranging from quartz editions, to chronograph versions that hit a huge variety of price points and boasting many different styles.
This specific watch, the 162.006 chronograph is a facinating bit of machinery. With a roughly 40mm size it wears well and has a thick case that feels quite substantial. It features styling of the typical 2000 with the iconic metal bezel with rasied lips for ease of rotation.
Where this watch gets very interesting however its movement. It is a quartz chronograph that uses a mechanical chronograph module to add chronograph function. The watch uses a ETA 955.232 movement which is a slight derivation on the run of the mill ETA 955.112. The 232 beats twice per second instead of the usual once per second normal quartz movements use. This movement then bolts directly into a DD 2000 chronograph module that has been used in some Audmars Piquet and Omega chronographs just to drop a few big names.
